By-Laws
These Bylaws, approved by IODE Laurentian, came into effect on November 7, 2018.

  1. Chapter Name: IODE Laurentian.
  2. Standard: National Flag of Canada (the Maple Leaf).
  3. Membership: New members will be accepted.
  4. Meetings:
    1. General Meetings shall be held at 10:00 am on the first Wednesday of the month at St. Bartholomew's Church Hall except July, August, January and February unless otherwise decided at a Chapter meeting.
    2. An Annual General meeting shall be held on the first Wednesday of February of each year.
    3. Executive Meetings, consisting of all of the officers and primary elected councilors (if any), shall be held in mid-summer.
    4. Special Meetings may be called from time to time at the request of no fewer than 10 members of the Chapter.
  5. Quorum for All Meetings:
    1. The numbers of Members required for quorum is 40% of the total number of Members entitled to vote at that meeting.
  6. Fees:
    1. The primary chapter will set the membership fee annually by a motion at a general meeting of members.
    2. Membership fees are due and payable no later than the date of the Annual General Meeting in any given year and shall include any per capita fee levied by the National, Provincial and Municipal chapters.
    3. Life members are exempt from any Primary Chapter fee that may be levied.
